BELLEVUE, WA – October 1, 1998 – Solid Modeling Solutions announces the general availability of SMLib 1.0, its new advanced geometric modeling kernel based on NURBS curves and surfaces combined with a fully functional non-manifold topology structure. SMLib is well suited for use in both entertainment and CAD applications. SMLib was shown at SIGGRAPH 98 and at Autofact 98. Details on SMLib can be found on the web at www.smlib.com.
SMLib includes all the curve and surface constructions and manipulations of the proven NURBS based Nlib, the geometry library from GeomWare, Inc. plus all the trimmed surface constructions and intersection functionality of IntegrityWare, Inc. The functionality of the geometry modules has now been integrated into a complete non-manifold topology (NMT) structure with the merge and Boolean operators providing high level and powerful functions for building state of the art applications.
At $2,000 per month for a site license to the source code, SMLib represents an extremely cost-effective way for both small and large companies to gain access to the latest geometric modeling technology and the support expertise required to utilize it effectively. The price for SMLib 1.0 is $2000 per month for internal use and $2500 per month for unlimited external use with no additional royalities. Full, unlimited Web, e-mail and phone support, together with all upgrades, is included in the license fee.
Solid Modeling Solutions, Inc., based in Bellevue, Washington, was formed on February 2, 1998 with a mission to be a leading provider of advanced geometry technology with high quality products and services, excellent support, and real value.
