BELLEVUE, WA – July 10, 1998 – Solid Modeling Solutions announces the prerelease of SMLib 1.0, its advanced geometric modeling kernel based on NURBS curves and surfaces combined with a fully functional non-manifold topology structure. SMLib is written in C++ and is well suited for use in both entertainment and CAD applications and will be shown at SIGGRAPH 98, booth 3723, and at Autofact, booth 1333. Details on SMLib can be found on the Web at www.smlib.com.
SMLib includes all the curve and surface constructions and manipulations of the proven NURBS geometry library from GeomWare, Inc. plus all the trimmed surface constructions and intersection functionality of IntegrityWare, Inc. The functionality of the geometry modules has been integrated into a complete non-manifold topology structure with the merge and Boolean operators providing high level and powerful functions for building state of the art applications. Full, unlimited Web, e-mail and phone support, and regular upgrades are included in the license fee.
The prerelease of SMLib is available immediately at $1,000 per month for a site license to the source code and so it offers development groups in companies both large and small the opportunity to evaluate SMLib and move up to the latest in modeling technology. Upon release, scheduled for October 1, the site license to the source code fees for SMLib 1.0 will be $2000 per month for internal use and $2500 per month for internal and unlimited external use with no additional royalties.
